Durability, reliability, and guaranteed power make Thunder Marine amplifiers some of the best performing power amplifiers on the water. Thunder Marine amplifiers are loaded with technology that allows them to consistently produce higher levels of power while being water and vibration resistant. And they look good doing it. The TM904 is a four-channel MOSFET marine amp delivering a clean 900 watts max/300 watts RMS.

Water, salt and electronics don't mix. Thunder Marine amplifiers are designed with numerous corrosion prevention strategies. On the outside are corrosion resistant materials: stainless steel screws and gold-plated terminals. All of the feature set controls are covered by plexi covers to guard the controls from water. Even the RCA connections have specially designed boots to protect any that aren't in use. To protect the internal parts from condensation and other mishaps, the circuit boards are conformal coated twice.
Vibration ResistantUnlike cars, boats have no suspension systems to smooth out the ride. And any boater will tell you that the water gets rough-hole circuit board construction has flexible leads that are soldered to the board and become loose with constant vibrations or hard impacts. MTX Marine amplifiers are engineered to withstand these vibrations and other abuses.
MTX's patented ISMT (Integrated Surface Mount Technology) does away with the through-hole board concept. ISMT mounts sensitive components directly to the board creating sturdy connections and appropriately sectioned board layout. MTX ISMT is the proven winner in durability for mobile amps and offers added bonuses for marine.
Corrosion and vibration resistant for the marine environment. Cooling
Temperature is always a concern for amplifiers as it has a severe effect on performance and ultimately reliability. MOSFETs transfer the heat from electrical components to the heatsink and a secure solid connection is essential for maintaining proper heat transfer. These cooling features and technologies are another way Thunder Marine is able to perform in the marine environment and other products just don't float. The non-treated metal clips competitive products use become weak over time and are susceptible to corrosion. MTX screws its corrosion resistant FET bars into place using high torque drivers to ensure the best heat transfer possible over the amp's life.
High-Pass/Low-Pass and Subsonic FiltersThe TM904 features both high- and low-pass filters, each with an 18dB/octave slope at 85Hz. Adjust as appropriate for your application, high-pass, low-pass, or full-range.
The amp also features a subsonic filter (24 dB at 15 Hz) to exclude inaudible low-end frequencies that detract from performance.
